We need another patch

Hi,

I think we need another patch to at least do the following.

1. Fix the city notification of what was last built. Seriously, how hard can that be to fix.

2. Add the ability to improve generic water tiles.

Those are my two top issues. What are yours?

I'll try to limit myself to two issues per your question:

1. Massively readjust diplomacy incentives: a) Provide clear, concrete benefits to being a Friend or Ally with someone, such as increased trade route yield, increased science/culture rate (in sciences/civics they have but you don't), and/or strategic resources sharing. b) Greatly reduce warmongering penalties or greatly increase positive modifiers so the positives ones actually mean something, and/or provide other ways to reduce warmongering penalties (i.e., being DOW'd on but not taking a city in response or killing soldiers outside your territory)

2. More militarily-aggressive AI, and/or greatly nerf ranged units so they do not dictate all battles

There are way more issues (both bugs and balancing) than can be covered in just two dot points. Perhaps all the issues that have been identified can be listed and people just 'vote' for the ones that are important to prioritise first vs those that are 'nice to have'. I would say that the actual bugs should be fixed first (UI that doesn't work properly, crashing issues - I've had a few) as well as the issues causing games to not play the way they should be (AI shortfalls re: upgrading units, going to war or not going to war, schizophrenic multiple personality disorder psychopathic behaviour - or in many of my actual games, AI that never attack me at all leaving a quite boring game... (should probably be a balance here somewhere? - or maybe this was due to a mod I installed), tactical combat issues) and the main balancing issues (embarked units being too strong etc). Then after this, focus on streamlining and overhauling the user interface, adding production queues, balancing etc which many mods have been attempting to address.

If I were going for simple things that could be easily added:

1 - Build queue - how hard could this be
2 - In diplomacy, information that would show the effects on relationships with others by my decisions. I cant previously know at any given point who hates who in the world when someone pops up and asks for friendship or trade.

Agree with all above suggestions

My two things (in addition to what others said above me):

1 - Better trade route management system. AT LEAST show what was the last target of a trader when it asks for new destination (or even better, put there a button with "repeat last route").
2 - Allow to disable automatic activation of religion and settler lense, because I hate both of them so much. So much. (They mask the land too much, I cannot properly see roads and terrain.) The settler lense is not helping me to pick a proper spot for a city, it's actually making it harder for me, so I always deselect the settler, plan the destination, select him again.

Well I think the build queue and the notification of what was last built are kinda the same problem. The only reason I can imagine they didn't fix that by now is that the root of this bug lies deeeeeep down the core game code and is difficult to fix without breaking the rest of the game. But who knows.. if we're lucky we got a patch for that by christmas!

Or maybe there are other bugs and issues that are somehow even worse that are taking up all their patching development time. But yeah - they should focus on the obvious things since people are probably complaining more about those. A nice big patch before Christmas would be great. I have 3 days off :)
