For Stargate Atlantis fans: doesn't the picture of Empress Theodora look like Dr. Weir/Torri Higginson?

I did a Google search and you're right - it does look like Torri Higginson. I wonder if they did that on purpose.

Well, Stargate Atlantis premeried AFTER conquests, so they would have had to have molded the Theodora picture on Torri Higginson. It doesn't seem impossible to believe especially since Stargate Atlantis had an episode entitle "The Game" which involved basically two guys playing a "real-life" version of civilization, where they later found out the game they played involved real people. But, if you look at some representations of the real Theodora such as here http://historymedren.about.com/od/picturegalleries/ig/Theodora-Picture-Gallery/ it seems more like a coincidence since those pictures look like our Theodora... at least to me.

I am just not seeing it.

Artists need someplace to start and even I can manage a Google image search. I could believe her image came up if they put in just the right search terms.

Theodora looks like a cross between Julia Roberts and Steve Buscemi.

Uh-oh... I did pick on Theodora a lot in high school. Maybe I'd better call her and apologize to get crossed off her list. I hear she has nasty dromons.

Personally, I would have preferred the image of her husband, Justinian. I keep playing the Byzantines, and hate being addressed by my advisors as Your Highness.

Just maybe it's time to put on your big boy panties and take it like a man. I deal with all those male titles so it's just your turn to turn the tables or go play in the leaderhead library.

BTW: H.R.H. Charles is referred to as Your Highness... where is the gender notation in that?

My apologies, Darski. You are correct that as a female gamer, the leaderheads to discriminate against you. Plus, considering how much I modify the game, changing the way of address would be simple.

Not the leaderheads, history. But it is a serious shortcoming in our modern, PC society, that Civ came without a male/female option for every civ.

Have you seen the size of the flic files! It would be nice to have a female/male choice but then civ III would be 1154 mb just in flic files alone

When they were making the game I think they decided to make some civs aimed at females, like the French & Byzantines being pink and having a female leaderheads.

In playing with the leaderheads, I have added one female and removed one female. I just cannot abide Cleo with her Bonnet on and on personal moral grounds, I refuse to Mao for my Chinese Civ.

Cleo has been replaced by RamsesII (I think it is Ramses II and not just the second Ramses made  ) Mao has been replaced by Empress Wu.

I am planning to put in Nappy to replace Joan just because I cannot stomach that Joannie got AIDS look that they chose for the last views. But it takes a bit of thinking before I can change them so I do the changes slowly.

I am not committed to an All Female game by any chance. although I was thinking that I could get Ramses to undertake an all-girls together game in honour of Cleo. :rotfl:

Roger that. I thought surely someone would have come out with a mod for her Modern era leaderhead but my searches came up empty. I realize its an attempt at humor but for some reason that one actually angered me. Wierd.

Surely there's some talented individual with too much time on their hands that can resolve this? Unfortunately I lack both time and talent.

Darski, for Egypt, why do you not use Hatshepsut, the first female Pharaoh? Rameses II is a good choice as well. I can understand about Mao. If you would like to be creative for America, you could use Edith Wilson, Woodrow Wilson's wife, who basically took over the presidency following Wilson's stroke in 1919.

I really don't concern myself about using female leaders or not. I hate to admit that I am so shallow but it is the visual images that drive me crazy.

I found a wonderful leaderhead for Isabella but it is not complete so I can't replace her yet. but I would replace her with *her*.
