Okay, so I'm playtesting my mod, and I go to to the player select screen. I pick my civ, and everything loads to 100%. Then, just before the screen shows up, I get this message:

What is that, and what does it do? Is it the music for the game, or what? If it's a glitch or something I screwed up in the pedia text, how do I fix it? If it's a core file I'm missing on my computer, can someone post it?

Thanks - Odin

BTW, if put a sound file there named "a.wav" it then asks for a "b.wav",

I wish I could help you, but this h'aint n'er happened to me b'fore. I don't suppose settler units have a "build" sound do they? I'm probably way off track here...

By the way, the graphic behind your error message looks pretty darn awesome!

Do you have custom music in your game?

Because that's what the error message in your game is for.

The Sounds/Build folder is for music.

Okay, make sure you don't have a Sounds/Build folder first of all.

Alternatively, look through the sounds folder, and check to see if something is missing.

Now that is one of the wierdest errors i've ever seen.

Are you sure there is no music.txt that might be in the text folder ?

The stranger thing is wavs have NOTHING to do with the Build folder.

When did this error first apear ?
When was the last time the mod worked ? and what exactly did you do till now.

Does one of your civs have NONE as it's culture? That'll do it. The game seaches for sounds like that if you have NONE culture civ.

To make sure rename a .wav "A". If you run the game it will probably say Missing File "B.wav" or something.

Lord Malbeth is right. I created that error message "in the retorte" to answer to a statement of Plotinus. You can read it here: http://forums.civfanatics.com/showthread.php?t=171117&page=3

It seems Odin, that at least one of your civs is set to culture "none". Give that civ a normal culture (not the barbarian one =none) and your problem should be solved. One tip: If you try what Lord Malbeth suggested (to add wav.a -d), please take down your sound. :D

I'm feeling that Civinator is right, because the music in the epic game is set so that the music from your civs culture group is played first. Odin probably forgot to set the culture group, and instead wanted to just test a game with the new civ.

It's because the AI doesn't listen to the music.

Anyway, if you listen to the Ancient Music folder, and then start a game as, for example Germany, the early European music will play.

I have a question, though, what happened if you tried to contact that AI? because the music played when you are in diplomacy is ALWAYS culture-specific, IIRC.
