WH Discussion Thread

Damn, Stormrage, you're good at this. I only hope mrtn doesn't fall for your nefarious ploy!

Ancient Constructs
Holy Constructs
Dynastic Power

Why are you so stuck on Constructs? The Ushabti are not constructs, damnit! :(

yes they are - but they are not "undead constructs" as Games Workshop thinks (like the bonegiant and tomb scorpion). But ushabti's are build statues - which have to be constructed too. But they're not undead constructs. Just constructs. Now, just give it a rest, and conform with the others. Now that we've gotten Stormrage somewhat "in line" (I still have some grumbles about the "blonde"-comments ;) :p ), we don't need another dissident in the ranks... ;) :p

Well, according to GW they are carved statues... which conforms with what they were IRL too (although the IRL ones smaller). Not built or constructed, but carved!

Playing a game as the Sylvanians. some notes:

* The human spearman can upgrade to the Undead Halberdier, but doesnt upgrade to the Undead Spearman. the Undead Spearman doesnt upgrade to the Undead Halberdier either
Yes, this is by design. If you upgrade your spearmen to undead spearmen, you then wouldn't be able to upgrade to pikemen. This hurts both the AI and me.
Besides, regarding having undead spearmen always available, this is a great unit to build in foreign cities were you want to lower the foreign population.

They will be less awesome in the future, i e more expensive.

This is very true :)

Yes, that would be too powerful for the undead civ: altough the stats remain the same, the upkeep cost of the army would become considerably smaller (IIRC, undead/skeleton spearmen do not have an upkeep cost).

Aargh!
"If you (if you could!) upgrade your spearmen to undead spearmen, you then wouldn't be able to upgrade to pikemen. "

As undead spearmen don't upgrade to pikemen.

Living spearmen used to upgrade to undead spearmen, I changed this. Now get on with your game! :scan:

@aaglo: Actually the civ would be less powerful if it could upgrade, due to the fact that they then wouldn't be able to upgrade to pikemen, which really screws the AI over.

Since always. Maybe you have to go up a level, though. ;)

I play at Emperor, and I usually see lots of Regular pikemen. These are old upgraded spearmen, in most cases.
