what are most important aspects to beat Emperor?

Yeah...I do it all the time. ;) Especially Monarch. It's even possible without using a utility like CivAssist or CrpSuite, but I recommend one. Once you get to Demigod, you want to spend a bit more time with your games, whether it be in negotiations of trade, the early stages of your game (I got a settler factory up and running before 1000 BC. That really helped me grab some land), or war.

Absolutely, even on Monarch I'd leave the governors on full time (though I'd still micro-manage my workers, that's an absolute MUST) without any utility assists, and win easily every time (which is why I moved up to Emperor). But to have success on Emperor, I've had to micro-manage quite a bit, at least well into the middle ages (sometimes I'm able to turn the Gov's back on when I'm approaching Democracy, 'cause by that point I've worked things over enough that even THEY can't screw things up too badly). Still don't use the assist utilities, and I'm not sure even what they do... but I dunno, somehow that feels like cheating... ;)

I don't use any assist utilities, because:

a) They slow my civ down somehow
b) Feels like cheating
c) I like not to screen screens

I can play a "reflex" game (one where I play very quickly, and just micromanaging by eye) on Emporer and win most of the time, so I guess MM is not that necessary.

For example, it's the start of the MA in my Demigod game and it's taken 4 and 1/2 hours...if it was Emperor, it'd've taken maybe 2-3 hours.

Re: utilities; They don't get any info that you can't get by using the advisors. If you want to check F1, F2, F4, and F8 everyturn, be my guest. ;)
