What are your thoughts on a classical dark age?

It's not so much to save your own Faith as to entice the AI to waste its own. If Gandhi sends a half dozen missionaries through converting your cities, and you then found your religion and instantly convert them all for free, you've made a much bigger relative gain than just the price of a couple of inquisitors (a much better value than missionaries on your home turf, generally speaking). I can never bring myself to wait too long, though, due to the risk of not getting the beliefs I want.

Speaking of which, anybody have any data on which beliefs the AI picks first? I know it loves Warrior Monks and Jesuit Education because I very rarely get the opportunity to use those.

Since R+F the AI religions' first 2 beliefs are exactly the same every game in the exact same order.

1 Warrior Monks + Meeting House
2 Divine Inspiration + Synagogue
3 Feed the World + Wat
4 Jesuit Education + Gurdwara
5 Reliquaries + Cathedral

I have run into some trouble actually losing my Religion when I pop it too early.
Getting massively infiltrated by the AI Missionaries is a real thing.
This happens when I get busy doing other things and ignore what is going on with Religion.
Thanks for explaining why one might wait to get all cities converted immediately.

I was thinking that I always see Jesuit Education when I pop my religion but I am usually 1st, 2nd or 3rd.
Now I know why.
However, I have always taken Choral Music for the most part.
Which one is more superior? Choral or Jesuit? Generally Speaking that is.

I have also been testing how often one can obtain Harvest and it appears that you can get Harvest up 70 to 85% of the time if you rush it.
So far I have documented getting up your pantheon as early as turn 13 and late as turn 41
If the AI is programmed for Beliefs I am guessing it is the same for Pantheons.

A couple months down the road I am guessing Gathering Storm is gonna change everything.
Chopping down the map is supposed to cause all sorts of trouble.
