World War 3 will never happen in the near future beacause the Soviet Union, the worlds only other superpower than the United States, was eliminated, and if any rogue state or terrorists launch a nuke at someone, the whole world will not go to war. With one exception: Jihad. Though that isnt going to happen, and the Taliban says this is Jihad , hehe, not very scary. You all that think it will happen have been reading too many Tom Clancy novels

I think that they will be only reason why WW3 would break out, because of the Nuclear Armaments. Is of an Alien BrainWashing of one nation to destroy all of the people in the world, except themselves.!

Present Russia under Vladimir Putin is doing well and have much better economy than Soviet Period with better economy Russia will grow stronger.
How bout China?China is expected to be the next world superpower by a lot of world leaders including Bill Clinton.
Anyway is good if they could ally up.USSR and USA was ally in 1945 and shortly started Cold War.Do you have any idea who started the cold war?US or Russia?In my opinion US started it,US seems to have been confronting Russia first by interfering the spread of Communism by Russia and make it clear I dont support Communism.....

Seriously, we were never really close allies to begin with--it was more of an "enemy of my enemy" type of relationship. I think both of us knew that once Germany was finished off, whatever "friendship" we had would evaporate. Indeed, toward the end of the war, postwar maneuverings were already going on--by BOTH sides.
Had Stalin allowed free elections in the Eastern European countries "allotted" him, like was agreed to at Yalta, things may have been different. However, had these countries voted for continued Soviet "protection" or occupation, there would still have been a stalemate in Europe that would lead into a Cold War. The break was pretty much inevitable....

Do yourself a huge favor Fayadi. Never quote Komrade Billy if you want to be taken seriously. He was a national disgrace to the US, and many feel a traitor as well. If America was a family, he'd be the child-molesting uncle who avoided a prison sentence on a technicality. No one wants him around, and no one mentions his name because of the shame.
You and I have gone toe-to-toe on the issue of China as a superpower already, and I don't want to cover ground that my tanks have already left tread marks all over. But I do want to go on record as being completely against the idea of China having MFN with the US, and I deplore the UN's decision to add China to the WTO. That the UN could do this shows how corrupt and worthless it is.
Your government has a demonstrated lack of respect for human rights. More to the point, it has a demonstrated lack of recognition of the existence of human rights. You may not have supported Tiannemen, but you certainly seem to have forgotten it, or brushed it aside as something 'from the past'. Well that may be how you see it, but I and a great many others regard Tiannemen as a fresh, gaping, wound on China's human rights record.
Actually...I believe it's the other way around.
Under Bill Clinton this country flurished. The economy was in full swing, we made strides toward middle east peace, better economic policies were finally persued (Kyoto treaty).
When both Bush's came into power we went to war. Persian Gulf and now Afghastan. The economy took a major hit near the end of Clinton's presidency...why? Because people knew the next President would either be Bush, or Gore. It's just not looking good to them. People aren't stupid....they could see this too. Bush Sr. had the economy turn around at the end of his Presidency...why? Because people knew he wouldn't be re-elected. And that things would get better. And he didn't get re-elected...and things did get better under Clinton.
I think Clinton has been the best modern President by far. The only reason Bush Jr. has a high approval rating is because of this "war" and Americans lust for revenge.
I'm sure you will disagree, but I just wanted to show the other side of the coin. Since we usually only get one side of the story around here.

The economy was in full swing because Bush Sr enacted awhole bunch of changes after the Soviet's collapsed and we didn't need the arms race anymore. Klinton reaped the rewards of his better's works. And the proof of that is how the economy staggered and fell after eight years of his rape-and-pillage economic strategy.
Bush did not start the Persian Gulf War, he ended it.
Bush Jr did not start the Afghanistan conflict, he is, however, about to end it.

Clinton also gave long-range missile technology to China. There was NO reason WHATSOEVER to compel him to do this, and he just added more fuel to the nuclear fire in doing so (what benefit to us, or to the world for that matter, did this action bestow?).
