I play France, I like them and find them really good except ww is far to high. I've had it in turn 2 before.
I've played games as Prussia and Spain successfully, but I prefer Prussia. I never play the great powers because I dislike the idea of being trapped in war and trapped in alliances. Playing as a neutral party lets me play diplomacy at my leisure.

That's my feeling as well. I don't do Spain because I'm surrounded by powerful neighbors with weak units. I like Prussia, Austria, Russia and the Ottomans. I admit they might be the easiest because you have more control over events. Fav is Austria for the strong Cavalry.
The last three Napoleonic games I played were as Britain, the Ottomans, and Spain. France seems too traditional and Russia is all the way at the edge of the world. Prussia I've played before but it wasn't easy. Austria I haven't played for a very long time, if ever. The Spain game was fun and ended in a victory, but Spain sure could use some better units!
