What DLCs for multiplayer are needed?

Hi I recently bough CIV V via Steam sale and I'd like to try out some multiplayer. However anytime I try to join a Multiplayer game, the game freezes when the multiplayer is loading (after all the players readied up) and host started the game.

I guess I should have some DLCs installed? How to find out what DLCs should I have for what multiplayer game (there is only minimal info in multiplayer startscreen)

Did your CIV V come with the Mongolia Scenario? That is the only DLC that is standard for most multiplayer matches, it came with Civ V when I bought it. I don't have the Korea/New Wonder DLC, so the times I try and join that game it won't let me get far.

Could your error be your connection, is there a slow speed? You can see the ping rates now before the multiplayer game is launched, below 250ms should be fine... if you see something like 5s (5 seconds) for a long time it will crash. You will occasionally see seconds in the ping before the host synchs.

Aye I got Mongolia Scenario as the only DLC as it was part of the Steam sale.

My game got frozen or was loading "ages" always when host launched it. I have decent connection (cable) and quite decent hardware too. So I have no idea what is wrong, I was almost ready to buy all the DLCs just to test it out.

I'll give it a few more tries, but I feel bad for the people I start the game with when I leave...

I havnt bought a single DLC, got some thought for bying the game in a store in the package.. mongolia I think.

And I ve never felt I ve missed something in MP

Just so you know, DLC is NOT the culprit. just thorwing it out there

Mongolia is a Free DLC that will always be in everyone games.
