What do leaders do??

Do they help wonder get built any faster?

Z

you can use a leader to create an army or to rush build a city improvement/wonder in one turn.

Hello All,

This is probably a dumb newbie question but...

How do I activate my leader once I have him? I've got him back to my city but I can't HURRY the wonder. I also can't form an army. What am I missing? Something obvious probably...

Thanks in advance!

If you already have the leader back to a city, the hard part is done (it sucks to loose a leader before being able to move it). Just right-click on the city and select the leader from the list of units garrisoned there. Once active, choose the Build Army button or the Hurry Improvement button at the bottom of the scree.

Thanks zzcczz!

I new it would be something obvious. I like using short cut keys and wasn't use to looking at the bottom of the screen... Doh!

Thanks Again!

You can still use hot-keys to rush projects or build armies, but some people don't feel comfortable using them (so I didn't mention them).

<b>[Edited] Ooooops! When I say "Army" I mean Leader. Sorry, I haven't got used to it yet. :)

If that is as easy as you say, then I have a *big* problem! I just can’t get *any* option to hurry *anything* with *any* army!

I haven’t played Civ 3 much yet, so I thought it was my problem. But I just tried what you told me and I couldn’t do that. :(

I’m uploading my savegame, playing by the Romans, with an army and the city of Memphis trying to hurry The United Nations Wonder.

If you can hurry the Wonder using the army, please let me know how. :)

By the way, I built that army using the Military Academy in the city of Neapolis, if that is of interest to you.

You can't hurry with an Army, it's only the Leader that can rush production.

The keyboard shortcut is Ctrl-H. For Armies, it's either B or Ctrl-B, I'm not sure which right now.

Thanks again! When I said "Army" what I meant was Leader. Sorry for that.

But even so, I already tryed the Ctrl+H and it doesn't work. :(
There simply is no such order.

I guess I'm missing something here, but I can't figure out what it is... or is this just a *big* bug?

See my screenshot please. I have the Leader active. There is no such option in the icons as well.

That's not a leader, it's an Army. It even says so in the text window. When you create an Army with a Leader, the Leader disappears and can't be used for rushing.
