You could end up making a lot of money with them if you founded them in a city with Wall Street and spread the corp to other Civs. Plus you got extra food, hammers, culture, or whatever. So they had uses, but they were far from perfect.

Meh, by the time I was able to build them I was close to winning the game anyways.

I want to see:

1: Way smarter AI that actually can pick a fight with you and make you feel fear, like "My god, he actually managed to take one of my citites, this is starting to get serious"

2: I want a much more flexible diplomacy screen

3: I want the different diplomacy animation characters to say different things and not just pump out the same statements again and again, it gets boring. I mean, how much work does it add to fireaxis to just type a few extra strings to get a little variation???

4: Better graphics (I know this is a flawed thing, but yes it actually adds fun to an already very good game concept, when you mix the two together it just gets better and more fun)

5: I want civ to become much faster than it is today, they must code it better. This is of high importance to me, I have a good rig but civ tends to be slow anyhow

6: They should be much much much MUCH more creative in adding automation features in the game. This is a hopeless aspect of the game, it's really just unbelievable how little automation there is. I get mouse-sickness quite often.

7: Ability to pay foes to improve relations. I pay and pay and pay them, but it doesnt improve.
For example, they could put an item on the left side of the trading screen "Improve relations" then you could put that item in the proposition box and ask what he wants for that item.

8: I want to see different battleships than the idaho type battleships. Bismarck class battleships would be a good add. This game is already too americanized.

9: I want them to add ability to create naval formations and move groups of units in formation with a single click.

--> Health re-introduced.

--> I'd like to see a "second level" of luxury/happiness resource
e.g. - have gems? - build jeweler which produces jewelry as a new luxury/happiness item .... alot of resources could have this "second level" ... heck maybe even a "third level", or two resources needed to produce a "second level (you get the idea...)

--> Caravans for player selected trade routes

--> limited espionage

--> more diverse terrain

Dear Santa

I'd like to see a decent multiplayer mode. I never play against AI - I'd rather play freesbee with my dog or mown my neighbourhood than waste my time playing against my computer. Sorry I'm just not autistic enough to play against AI in CIV V.

Ohh - you say that decent mutiplayer mode is not possible with 2k and firaxis?

Assryia as a civ

bi planes as a unit

triremes and ironclads that ram

a giant tidal wave if you nuke a coastal city that swamps other coastal cities

the evidence is clear- Immersion over Mechanics- this is the superior

Maybe I missed the reason for corporations when I played BTS, but I never once found them the least bit useful, at all, ever. Hell I was only able to actually build them once and really by that point there seemed no point?

Yeah, I rarely had a use for them. They seemed designed to bankrupt neighboring civs more than anything else.

I voted religion, provided it's added in a way that makes sense for this game (otherwise, the piety tree is fine) and other (espionage).

If it's implemented like Civ4, I absolutely do not want vassals.

Well, I'd want that in a patch :p

Bring back the Privateer and espionage! AI needs to be more willing to trade luxuries. Bring back the Diplomat as a way to improve relations with enemies or form alliances against other civilizations.

I really like this idea. I have missed a second 'level' of luxuries in this game. In Civ4 it there was sort of a second level. Not in the sense of using other resources to produce them but rather you got access to some of them later in the game. I liked this second growth phase.

Other than that I'll repeat things already said.
>Interesting tile yields.
>Interesting tile improvements.
>SODs(Compared to the current system SODs are nicer and they don't brake the rest of the game. To be honest armies or something like that would probably be better. Something like CtP style combat could probably work)
>Fix the messed up research speed to build time ratio.
>Interesting diplomacy
>Persistent diplomacy( Make deals last until cancelled so you don't have to get the open border brigade knocking on your door every x turns)
>Open trade agreements(Creates trade routes between partners cities and you capital if linked)
>Make city states interesting or take them out, just not a by x, y or z buttons. (Honestly these feel like the where implemented just to suck up gold from the other civs)
EDIT: > Do something about research agreements, this pay money, wait x turns is so gamey. How hard is it to implement something like: Continuous pay upkeep for the agreement and receive a research bonus or a percentage of the partners total produced research.

There where more points but I can't think of them right now. To be honest most of these things should never have been a problem to begin with.

More random everything with zero attention to cohesive design or fundamental gameplay flaws or engine deficiencies. Oh yeah, that's the stuff...

Zulus!

I'd just really like them to do more interesting things with tile improvements and cities. I feel like they neglected them and left them too boring. Tiles and cities all feel the same for the most part, small differences but not significant ones like in Civ IV.

This exactly
