I've tried it before, and the worker sometimes makes a road, then stops. Other times it doesn't work at all.

What does it do?

IIRC, the worker makes a road to a resource. But, however, if there is no strategic or luxury resource, the worker does not make a road.

Have not tried it in a long time so I may be missing some points.

In the manual it says that it will build a road connecting all of your cities. Haven't tried myself though. I don't trust automated workers at all.

It connects your cities and resourses together. If you can't be bothered to MM the worker, this is actually a really good command to use.

When I really can't be bothered, I use this command. But sometimes they're a little dumb when choosing the paths. Yes, it links all your cities and resources and stop when it's all finished.

Thanks. I'd love to have a command that just railroads every square in your territory. :Sigh: It takes so much time each turn... That's what I tried to use this for, but it didn't work.

I think it just increases commerce by +1. "Building roads" is a little mis-leading.

When you're cities are where you want them to be, do a Ctrl-A. This will automate them without changing improvement. If all of your city tiles are improved but without railroads, it will railroad them.
