What format are Civ1 pictures in?

I have the files and they are separated in two files, for example:

king05.pic
king05.pal

I suppose the pal is short for palette, while pic is short for picture.

Anyone knows which program I can open them with?

So give me your email address and I will . It is easy to use - just give it the .pic file you wish to view as the first command line parameter.

PS. PIC.EXE seems to open only .pic files, ignoring .pal ones.
