what hardware specs to improve?

ok I am not having any graphic problems, all videos run smoothly and my animations do not stutter .

My problems lie in the slowing down of the game at late modern ages 1800+ when playing huge earth map with 18 civs...having to wait a minute between each turn kills the game for me...

What would be the most effective hardware component in my computer to improve if I want the game to run faster? processor? RAMs? or something else?

It helped when I lowered the graphics to low but still...its slow

My system :
Intel Pentium 4, 3Ghz, 512 RAM, Nvidea Gforce 6600..

I would say RAM.

I say RAM also since I have the same video card although it's the 256mb one but you have a slightly faster processor. It works perfectly on here with 1Gb of RAM so I'd say get yourself another 512mb stick and hopefully it should sort it out. That said, I've haven't tried a huge map with 18 Civs although it will do huge with half that number without any problems.

thx, I got myself 2x 512 MB sticks and the inbetween turn waiting time has been halfed...maybe I should get me 2x512 more hehe
