Kinda hard to explain this but I'll give it a go. If you're anything like me then you probably find that Earth maps tend to provide the best games... Despite this I'm bored to tears with them now as I've played them so much.

What I'd love to see is an orignal map of a fictional world with perhaps 6 continents with unique geographical features. Eg; the Panama connection, the plateau north of the Himilayas, the Andes running the length of South America, the bizarre landscape and resources of Australia, the vastness of the tiger belt across Eurasia and the correct resources on a tiny little island that allowed the British empire to dominate the planet for 200 years etc etc etc...

Some of you may be thinking "why doesn't he just play randomly generated terra maps". The problem with these is the the resources are randomly generated and scattered, theres no mountain ranges that make geographical sense (think tectonic plates shifting). Worst of all with randomly generated maps is the fact that you always end up on the same continent as about 400 other civs. You never get an island to yourself when you choose a terra map.

So I'd like to see a nicely structured continental map with intelligently placed resources, mountain ranges, deserts and hilly regions that make sense. Vast ocean(s) like the Pacific aren't neccessarily a bad thing either.

Basically I'd like to see maps that base themselves on planet Earth but with a completely different topography.

Anyone get what I'm blathering about?

Thanks for reading. :)

edit: This guy had the right idea: http://forums.civfanatics.com/showthread.php?t=207705 , maps too small though.
