Multi-Maps: The questions thread.

Ah well... their intention never was to go to the cosmos with this ;)
I on the other hand would like to go to Chiron and have a Civ4/SMAC crossover with a second map level. Just one extra map.
 
So who should I ask, or maybe you can?
It's literally 2 options there:
1. NOT modular, so exactly zero modmodding is possible as of right now.
2. YES modular, so I'd really like to know HOW to modmod then, lol.
Sorry for nagging, but it looks just way too good to pass the opportunity.
you need to add 1 line to the c++ code.
And add a type to CIV4MapInfo.xml.
And add a WB map or a python mapscript.
Then add outcome missions to units so they can move between maps.

I had the opposite question.
I tried simply replacing a MAP file (say, "Moon") with something else (say, "Random Earth"), but did it wrong or something.
All of what you said is about adding more TYPES of maps, whereas my question starts with "can I REPLACE the existing maps with other maps - simply by RENAMING them"?
 
Are there any step by step instructions on how to enable multi maps for a new game and how to unlock it within a game?
I thought I started a new game with multi maps but I can't see the globe icon in the atomic age.
