Free Greag Engineer upon researching Masonry. Earn Great Engineers 50% faster.

Like an Engineer version of babylon! Not to mention with Liberty, Egyot can reliably snipe Pyramids! Egypt gets Pyramids is like 100% flavor. Also ever noticed how Pyramids conveniently grants 1 Great Engineer point?

This is similar to its UA in the Superpower mod, it gets +15% wonder production and a free engineer on masonry

An interesting conspect, which would work very well with order. If their were ever to be a mod, like this I would almost certainly play it. :egypt:

Hm yeah that would certainly be cool. Personally, I prefer UAs that do something more unique though, you know? The Maya have a crazy UA, even altering the UI of the game. Of course doing this is way easier to implement, but why not something more fun, like using worker units to speed production in some way? When the pyramids were being built, they called the best and most skilled workers from across Egypt to work on the project. It was supposedly a great honour.

That works pretty nicely with the free great engineers too, but I don't think it reflects the manpower they mobilized to work on their wonders.

An internal Trade Route from a workshopped city sending Production Hammers to the city building the Pyramids would represent that neatly, except that by the time you get Workshops built, you're way too late to build the Pyramids...

Perhaps a UA that allows Any city to send Production to a Wonder-building city ONLY for the duration of Wonder Construction using an Internal Trade Route would do it - no Workshop required.

BUT such a UA is not necessarily Only Egyptian: Wonders like the Terracotta Army, Stonehenge, Great Wall - all were built using resources in manpower and materials from All Over, and as a result none were built anywhere near the 'capital' of their respective civilizations - perhaps an Ability as described above available with a Centralized God King - type government or 'Glory to the God-King' Social/Religious Policy? :king:

I'm not overfond of any civ getting a free Great Engineer so early in the game. I feel like it would rig the game too much. Essentially right now it would be a free Great Library every game.
So you spent 11 turns building a Wonder and lose it because of Egypts UA? That is a bit cruel.

The Pyramids is an odd wonder - does it really belong in Liberty? It always struck me as more of a Tradition oriented Wonder.
The worker bonuses are nice although I think it would be theme better if it swapped one of the free workers for a Burial Tomb instead.
Every time I go Liberty I'm always short on happiness, faith and gold so a Burial Tomb would be a nice early perk, plus the Pyramids were built for religious reasons. The organised labor and economy was established to build the Pyramids and not vice versa. The end point of the pyramids was the Egyptian religion.
