i was wondering in the editor...

what does Collateral damage flag do? i did not find any units (i thought artillery or cruise missle might have it) so i dont know what is its effect or get an idea.

also...

anyone know the 3-5 of the worlds largest swamp area/marsh's name and location?

collateral damage is when arty pieces & missiles take HPs away from units defending in a city and they destroy city improvements all in the same fire/turn.

not sure about the swamps. florida? louisiana? eastern europe?

3-5 largest/well known-need name and their location
im assuming there is africa somewhere and south america... florida has the everglades but i have no clue will that make the list.
 
One of the largest swamps is in Papua New Guinea/Indonesia - don't know the name though

should cruise missles have that checked?
should artillerys?
defaultly their not.
 
In a truly counter-intuitive move that I complained a lot about during development collateral damage does not work for bombard units!!!

It does additional damage to buildings when you do a normal attack.

It is used in a few of the Conquests to simulate extra damage by barbarians.

IRL, higher end missiles and arty have less collateral damage than lower tech models.

which is true; as is the lack of it for civ3 air units.

i figure that it is an enhancement of sorts and i'll incorporate this into upgraded units and the like.

so does it work with missles?
mainly thats the item i want this to apply too...

my barbarian level is set on raging... dont know yet if i want them to have that effect of pillaging buildings.

also, have you EVER heard of that pillage sound file? suppose to be when barbarians attack and you hear screams and things breaking in the back.
does it ever play? i never heard it...


also, another what is question...

what does accelerated production do?
there is also a file called X-victory or something...
its a strange arch like thing.. is that with victory point scoring?
 
accel production: read ur PTW manual. [RTFM] (it doubles shield/commerce/food production rates.)

It can also be given to normal units so they do additional damage when they succeed in an attack. The Middle Ages scenario uses it for the Norse Berserker to represent it's pillaging of a city.
