Vladimir Kopat scored on a 70-foot shot that bounced wildly off goalie Tommy Salo’s head with only 2:24 remaining and Belarus scored one of the greatest upsets in Olympic history Wednesday, beating Sweden 4-3 in the hockey quarterfinals

I'm usually not so patriotic, but has the USA lost a hockey game in the Olympics yet?
 
No USA haven't lost a single game yet. :(

Not for long hopefully... (Russia vs USA semifinal on Friday ;) )
 
I said in an earlier post that we shouldn´t be so hard on the Canadians because Sweden won´t win forever. I was correct!

Actually, Im happy that we managed to give the Belarus team so much joy. Not to mention the whole Belarus population!

Now every Belarussian (?) youngster will start playing icehockey and they will win every olympics for the next 100 years :king:

And this loss will be remembered just as long in Sweden, I don´t doubt that for a second. :lol: considering that this is a scandal with epic propotions in this country.

The journalists had to go back all the way to the 1936 olympics (lost to Japan in Soccer) to find anything that could even come close to this scandal. :lol:

Well, congratulations once again Belarus. Im happy for you :)

P.S. Imagine how cool it would have been if Belarus won the gold medal! GO BELARUS! D.S.

Nay, Norway more likely... they always get alot of medals in the winter olympics.

They have a smashing 10 gold medals in this Olympics already...

After having sleept an our or two, it is beggining to sink in. This is the largest loss of all times! I still can´t believe how they managed to loose. :eek:

But I really want to congratulate Belarus for this victory. You earned it. :)
