I am just curiosu to what is the best governement, personally for me it is democracy if I dont get involved in a war.

Well... You just answered youre own question lol! It all depends on the prediciment you are in... If you are in a long, drawn out war and Communism is available, you would most likely switch to that. If you are peaceful and building, you would choose either Democracy or Republic. Despotism is obviously pretty bad so you dont want to stay in that very long, and Monarchy is good for waging early wars. They all have their advantages and disadvantages. Personally, I prefer Deomcracy... But sometimes, if im playing on a huge map, with a large sprawling empire, i will use Communism just for the heck of it.

I prefer monarchy instead of communism when waging war for very long periods of time. Democracy is the best if you are totally peaceful. The corruption diffference between republic and democracy is barely noticeable. But democracy does offer faster workers. Republic has less war weariness. If totally safe from wars, or you are religious go to democracy. If you are not religious, it may be better to stay in Republic if there is any semi-decent chance a war will happen, rather than go through 4-8 turns of anarchy (anarchy twice if war does happen and war weariness starts hitting bad, which will give you a total of 8-16 turns of anarchy by having to switch twice).

Democracy is certainly the best during peace.

During war it depends on the size of your civ. I like monarchy better for small civs and communism for big civs, since the outside cities still produce more than one shield under communism. Monarchy has a diffferent advatage, you're able to speed up improvements by paying money. So if you're rich before going to war monarchy may works better.
