Forgive my ignorance, but I'm new to Conquests (and Civ3 in general).

I keep hearing references to the Epic Game. Is this a scenario or something? What are its attributes? And can it be edited??? :mischief:

An Epic game is a normal game. When you select 'New Game' you are starting an Epic game. Only mods that don't change the rules are allowed. Graphics/sound mods are fine.

Geez, this is getting to be like the 'Where's the anykey?'

Except the "any key" thing is blindingly obvious, whereas unless you've been specifically told the epic game is the regular un-modded version, you wouldn't get that, and would have little reason to assume as such. Although calling it the Epic game is more, well, epic, it'd have been bette off described as aregular or normal game, methinks ;)

That IS a little confusing. I had been under the impression that an Epic game was some kind of "prolonged" game, where the science rate is considerably slowed and build costs for everything are higher. Is it possible to mod the Regular game to emulate *that*?

Glad to hear it, thanks. I have only scratched the surface of the editor, and though it looks quite powerful, I worried about just how much of the game's mechanics were hard-coded, and the universal tech paradigm (to use some Civ2 terminology) seemed like it might be hard-coded.

I'm off to continue investigating :goodjob:

I actually made an epic game for conquests, made it 1000 turns, made the map bigger and let all civs join in, along with a few rule changes (guerrillas are hidden nationality, etc.).
