I am guessing it is 24hrs.. is it possible to get shorter bans?

My 1st two bans ended up under 24 hours but I won't disclose my methods. I think the original sentence was 3 days in each case, which seems like the common "starter ban."
My bans were all three days or more.
Bans use to typically be 3 then 5 then 7 then 10 then 14 then 21 then 30 days.
With the automated system the lowest default ban length is 7 days.
Mods can do manual bans of any length, but they are only done for special cases.

Ah, not sure how- but i guess a 3 day ban will be useful next week...I'll give it a think and PM one of you guys.

I thought 7 days was the new low with the point system.
They can manually lift the ban. The lowest automatic setting is 7 days.

Well, I know for sure that half a dozen of us were given a ban was shy of a day, and that was the setting for the ban when given.

Didn't you say that - after the last time you were self-banned - it simply didn't work and you just spent your days browsing CFC but unable to post? If that's the case then surely you need to find some other method to avoid the site?

I am wasting my life with CFC.. i am seriously considering getting my account deleted, and my IP blocked.
I can say, without a shadow of a doubt, for what entertainment and joy CFC has given me, it has atleast cost me a grade boundary in my Degree.

People have done it before. I think that such requests are usually granted.
An IP block is seriously unlikely, as is an account deletion. There have been cases where users have requested permbans, and we're usually happy to oblige. It's actually rather fun to permanently ban someone for loving CFC too much.
That's way too evil-sounding for a mod to say.
