What is Vanilla Civ?!?

Hey everybody

This is probably been answered a dozen times, but the search function in the Forum is apparently unavailable to me........so I dare answer this question:

What is Vanilla Civ?

I have seen the references to Vanilla in several forums, but I have never found out what it is.

The box has a little pad on it, rub that pad and you will smell vanilla.

Vanilla Civ = Plain Civ, no expansions.

It's just the original Civ3. No expansions, etc. Patches are OK.

It means PLAIN... and is used on this forum for the purposes of identifying Civ 3 without any expantion packs installed.

yeah that confused me for a bit too, when i first got here i was pretty sure that was what it ment, but i wasn't sure if there was an expansion pack i wasn't aware of
