What is wrong whith my TITLE.gif ??

Hey, Klesh, that's a cool looking border! You may have to redo the rest of the window tile graphics, then... :goodjob:

There hasn't been a scenario called "Swastika", has there?

Well I enjoy the working name because the scenario is very very open. Starts in '39 with a historical set up, then all nations can do as they please. If the Germans care not to annex Hungary, Rumania etc, they needn't...

Since "living space' gives me a sense of open border changing (maybe I am wrong, for some reason it does) and the conquest of nations, the title really works for me.

After all France could use some Lebensraum too you know.

Enough threadjacking though. I am just looking to hear from Eivind IV..

-FMK.

Yeah, I always liked custom borders. it looks good.

FMK, you can always name your scenario "Springtime for Hitler" I can supply you with the music :goodjob: ;)

Elvind: sorry for the threadjack :)

Hello. There is no copyright on the scenario name, so you could call it whatever you like, I do not mind. But for your own self, it might be nice to have a scenario with a name wich is uniqe. Do as you like :)

Look forward to play your scenario. I am not pleased with my scenario. Never should have published it that early. I am planning on re-making the scenario from the beginning. Make my own map, my own units, my own tech-tree and my own events-files. That way my scenario would be uniqe. Might take some while but I have allready made all the units.

I am about to finish another scenario. This time as a multiplayer scenario. And from the first world war. When it is finished, you can enjoy a new huge self-made map wich includes Europe and Africa. And with my own units. I do though have problems with a name for the scenario. I asume the name "the Great War" is taken. Am I right?

Until next time,

enjoy!

I you are looking for a "open border change name", Lebensraum may not be perfect. This is the definision of Lebensraum:

"Lebensraum (German, living-space)
Nazi political doctrine claiming a need to acquire more
territory in order to accommodate the expanding German nation.
First introduced as a political concept in the 1870s, the concept
was given patriotic significance by Hitler and Goebbels. The corollary
to 'Lebensraum' was the 'Drang nach Osten' (German, 'drive to the East'),
which claimed large areas of eastern Europe for the Third Reich to enable
the so-called Nazi master race to subjugate and colonize the Slavic peoples."

Well, hope that you can help me...I would be thankfull.

:o I haven't looked at this thread for a while and now see what I've done...

Do you still need to know?

Here's a start:

- Open the units.gif in PSP
- Go to Colors > Edit Palette...
- The first color on the second row is the foreground color for the window title. Change it to a unique color (not yet anywhere else in the palette, this ISN'T yet the color you want to use finally)...
- Now change the first of the block of black colors at the bottom of the palette (index 192) to color (135, 135, 135). That's what used to be that foreground title color.
- Use the Color Replacer to swap these two colors (that is, swap the color at palette index 16, with the one at index 192). Your units will now look normal again (after looking funky when you changed the first palette color).
- Now open the Palette Editor again and change index 16 (first on the second row) to your desired title color.

Now have a look at what Civ2 looks like...

- To match the color swap, you need to make the same changes to all the other gif's as well though, since the other graphics "borrow" their colors ( actually, only the first 192 colors of the palette... nevermind) from the units.gif file.

The same method could be used for changing the "shade" color (i.e. the black backdrop of the titles), which use the very first color in the palette... The problem is, that color is used by a lot of other things as well (like the black background on the main map, and the color of unexplored squares on the little world map).

In short, it is quite possible, but the benefits might not outweigh the drawbacks and trouble to get there.

I am fully aware of what the definition is. Perhaps I didn't explain myself well enough. In this scenario, the year 1939 is set up, and the players make their own political decisions along the way. Perhaps France is first to strike at Germany, before she takes Poland? Perhaps Rumania and Hugary arent annexed, but rather captured from the AI by the Russians? What I mean by free and open is that any nation really can Look for 'living space' from its neighbors. Germany is poised to strike first, but thing will definately not resemble WWII in the way it pans out. With trade units and all, its really more of a political type of PBEM, lots of nations to take over or perhaps guarentee the sovereiginity of.

Its definately the name I have been planning to use for awhile. Great minds think alike I guess. ;)

I'll try to think of something else.
