What is your favorite Wonder so far?

There are a lot of wonders to like in both Civ 5 and 6, but since we're in the Civ 6 forums:

The good:

Huei Teocalli: Gotta love a wonder that makes lake tiles somehow useful. About time!

Chichen Itza: Yes, I have an unrepentant love for situational and terrain based wonders.

Mont-Saint-Michel: Because not only it looks cool, but it also adds a unique effect to your religious units! Much more flavourful than the plain "+1 policy this", "+3 production that".

Eiffel tower: This will be either utterly powerful, or utterly useless. We'll see.

The Oracle: Love its, "clean" design, giving you GP on an era that lacks of them.

The great library: Instead of getting it in order to rush techs, you will want to rush it in order to make the most out of tech. One of the most interesting wonders from a strategic point of view.

The big ben: Holy molly, what a collection of mutiple super-powerful bonuses!

The meh:

Hanging gardens: Love their graphics, but their effect is a little tad too bland for my tastes

The Pyramids: Too much specific placing requirements for such a small bonus and dismaying yields (+2 culture on a frigging desert tile for the epithome of a world wonder? seriously? seriously?).

The colossus: We had an opportunity for a wonder that boost coastatal tiles, but nope, just a single trade route in a game full of them.

The ugly:

Maracana stadium: Sports are not a "wondrous" thing, and there are one bajillion better, more astethically pleasing stadiums. I have been there in person, and Maracaná is an ugly, ugly dirty place that do not deserve the inclussion in a "world top 10 stadiums", much less a wonder list.

HG will be fine, more growth is always important, and it won't change in Civ6. Colossus gives trader with that trade route. And Pyramids? They are not about 2 culture, they are about extra builder charge and free builder.

Builders get more and more expensive the more of them you have built so pyramids is much better then it sound like and I think it is pretty cheap.

I really like that wonders in Civ VI seems more powerful than in Civ V. I really think that The Eiffel Tower looks especially good, +Appeal on each tile of your Civ. If happiness is nearly as inportant as it was in Civ V, this wonder is like Shakespears Theatre was in Civ I.

They pretty much have now that they take up a whole hex. I'm not complaining about that... I actually like that.

1. It illuminates the pyramids on the water phenomena prevalent in part games.
2. It slows down wonder hogs, preventing too many in one city... They have to be spread out more.

I know, off topic but I love the force that I can no longer wonder-hog, will actually force me to adapt to new strategies and actually HAVE an army for once xD

I don't think Hanging Gardens is that bad, if it's the same effect as Civ 5's Temple of ARtemis that means you can still grow with very little food which is quite powerful. It's also going to be the biggest contended wonder I think given how easy rivers will be available.

But appeal and happiness is not the same at all. Amenties = local happiness. I don't think we have established how appeal works, only it influences tourism.

So ATM it's quite hard to tell how powerful it is, however it will come rather late in the game. So it will not be cIV Mids-powerful

You are right. We don't know yet how good it is. It can be great or not so great :)
