Like many games on 'mortal that didn't end with me spectacularly winning, it was a learning experience. It was also kinda fun being the lone city-state empire watching everyone else going to war and whatnot, without being concerned about victory conditions.

Thanks for posting those screenshots. That game looked intense. Texcoco was in a salient for much of the game, by the looks of it. For you to hold out behind in tech, must have been quite challenging.

I have been having a bit of fun myself. Testing my mod. Then I am playing a standard game with Polynesia as well.

I play Immortal when I'm looking for a bit of a challenge and Emperor when I feel like messing around with something special. I'd say I win Emperor >80-90% of the time and Immortal something like 30-50%.

I've come close to beating Deity a couple of times and could probably beat it if I really set my mind to it, but honestly I just don't find it fun at all. It lacks the whole feeling of building an empire that I love most about Civ, it's just a brutal, dry optimization exercise which feels like you're fighting uphill all of the time. Not fun to me at all.
