What level are people playing???

It's very difficult.
You must have no honor.
You must be a mechant and than a ruthless killer.
Have no friends, just use your neighbours one against each other.
Pay every tribute that they ask (in the begining) that (when you will have the opportunity) kill'em all. OK, Conquests is a lot more difficult. Sid level is also imposible for me (yet)

Monarch.

I have played and won emperor, but it was not much fun. It is just a race and if you are in a bad starting location you might as well restart. Monarch I can win no matter what conditions my starting location has.
I like to play a bit historical for my civ. If I am France or Spain I go and colonize. If I am Mongolia or Arabs I go and conquer from the start. If I am Babylonia or China I build an advanced empire and so on.

If there was a level between monarch and emperor, I would probably play that. Emperor is just no fun. It is like playing Red Alert or some other simple, no fun game, where you just have to race the enemy and get as many units as possible.

Deity (currently playing a game on the new 'Sid' level though).
always huge maps with 16 civs. (takes weeks to finish! )

i play on this level because otherwise the game is won in the middle ages. on the higher levels its more difficult and takes more turns to overtake the AI by a couple of techs.

the only boring thing about this level is that you are so very weak and puny when the game starts... all the AI civs get lots of bonus units from the start! about when the middle ages begin you have usually caught up pretty good.

its boring in a way... the ancient era is difficult, a real pain. but as the ages goes by, it gets easier. i would like the ancient era to be a little fairer and the following ages more difficult!

I now play demigod level, with foreys into deity, and sometimes Sid level. I have yet to get a lucky start since beta testing. (lucky start being very isolated). But, as far as Civ3 and PTW are concerned - I'll have to see how I do on deity -without- Persia.

SID Level. Proving again, the only way the AI can ever win is by cheating. I would love to see a comparable AI to human intelligence.

I play monarch and win allways. I'll play Emperor after winning Conquest scenarios on Monarch.

I feel you bro. My social life sucks at the moment, so this game keeps me busy most often. Of course, once I get my license back tommorow and my car on the road again, i'll be back to partying!

So, yeah, I play on Chieftan, still getting used to Civ'ing, hopefully I'll be moving up soon, tried Warlord, but things didn't go well, so I igured I'd win a few more games on Chieftan before advancing.
