I´m new with civ 4, have played civ1,2,3 and original colonization (first times I played civ 1 I thought settler was to expensive to buy...)

Haven´t got civ 4 until now couse I know how much time it will take from studies :mischief:

Have seen som in the forum about different mods so now I wonder, what mods should I get for vanilla civ 4?
please give the location of where to find the mod also.

thanks
Andreas

I think its strange that when you first start to play a game you're already go looking out for mods to change that game.

In games I have played before many mods are just maybe not so much modification as help to play the game. Think I´m mostly sking for that sort of things. Don´t remember the name but there was a "watch out" program for civ 3 that I would recommend for all new players like an example (don´t remember the name)

That program made civ 3 much funnier to play and I think there can be such things for civ 4 also:)

You really should get BtS if you're interested in mods. There aren't that many available for vanilla anymore, certainly not any good ones. Anything worthwhile has been updated to require BtS.

Yeah BtS+BUG is the way to go if you just want to play the game more efficiently.

For expanded gameplay I recommend Rhye's and Fall of Civilization, for just being a great historical mod.

Only problem calling it BUG mod is that it contains only three characters, meaning some forums won't allow you to search for it. While googling it will come up with a tonne of unrelated hits. Civ4 +mod +bug? I mean, yeah right :D :D Call me a noob, but I had some troubles finding it. Well, I'm a nerd and I expect myself to find stuff on the first try :)

Well, yes, I can see how you might have some degree of difficulty searching for it, but you can also do a search for "bts unaltered gameplay" (aka BUG) or go directly to the download center of CFC. It's never been an issue for me.

I had the same problem when I thought I had found a "bug" in BUG. A google search was hopeless because of what you already described. I quickly got help by just posting in the BUG forums, they were very helpful.
