What pushes an AI's buttons?

For me lately, the best predictor is 'I'm finished with my previous war and am preparing the last few new troops to invade him.' The AI just seems to have gone suicidal on me lately, it's pretty amusing, like they're saying 'don't drag it out, just get it over with already'.
