Started a game with the Americans (my first one) on eassiest difficulty and got a question!

What should I do in this case:

Don't pay attention on the amount of gold I have. Scientific I'm the best on the map and I don't want to start a war, but other civs are getting more points than I do, because they have more territory snd they can produce faster. What do you think would be my best next step

Get everybody on the continent except the Persians to sign MPP's with you. Then declare war on the persians, leave an obsolete unit in their territory, and wait for them to attack it (shouldn't be long). Everybody will declare war on the Persians, and then you can blitz through their territory, and hopefully take most of it for yourself.

weird, if your culture was that strong, why couldn't you assimilate their cities??
