The War is over and our economy already seems to be booming, we are at 60% science and are raking in 20 gpt. Babylonian cities are coming along nicely, with the exception of Babylon, which is suffering from starvation. The starvation can also be avoided, though, if the Town 2N of Blastoid is worked in Babylon instead of having a spy specialist. The 4 cities are also netting us an increase revenue.

So what do we do with the GM? He can join a city, go on a mission to another county's city, bulb Divine Right, or Start a Golden Age.

Personally, I am leaning towards a Mission Overseas, or a Golden Age.

A Mission Overseas would give us a load of cash upfront to use (in combination with a large positive cash flow) for military upgrades to continue the war more quickly.

A Golden Age would capitalize on the after-war economic boom by making it better, and then after returning us to a already good starting point. I suggest switching civics to Free Speech (for the culture, which we need up against the new Babylonian Boarder), Free Market (for the Trade Routes and the RPG making sense), and Organized Religion (for the building production bonuses.
Free Speech plus Organized Religion could be used to create some cultural buildings in Warfire to take some heat off of the city, and with free speech towns will get plus two :commerce: as well as the golden age's increase of :commerce:. This will get us some serious cash, especially in Arete, Arkaida, and Babylon.
In addition to this, we could also switch to Caste System and Pacifism, for some nice GPP, saying Golden Age and Pacifism would be 200% GPPs, and Caste System would give us the ability to rush these GP for some good rewards.

What do you say?

Yes, a mission overseas, to Mecca. That would provide both valuable intel and a rich trade route.

Great work, thecommonnate.

I just got a Great Merchant early in the game. I can send him on a trade mission for 900 gold, or I can bulb Currency and trade it for Monarchy, Calendar, and 130 gold. Since my economy was in good shape, I chose to bulb currency. There is no general answer to"What to do with a Great Merchant?"
