What type of Civ4 leader trait do you possess?

Probably Financial and then either Organized or Creative. So I guess Darius I / vanilla Washington or Willem Oranje / vanilla Catherine.

Just as when I'm playing, probably a Time Victory before anything else. lol

After a poll of several ladies, I can guarantee I'm Agg/Cha and use the whip a bit too often. :groucho:

Spoiler :
Yeah, joke post. I'll have to think about it.

Interesting thread! I've actually thought about this before, so it's pretty easy. ;)

Protective/Spiritual

Which fits perfectly with my ISTJ personality. I'm logical, often slow to move, but when I do it's nearly always a success. And the things that I know, I know that I know. ;)

So I guess I'm this guy:

civ4_saladin_high.jpg

Edit: Oh yeah, and I'm most likely to go for a simple Time victory. I find the idea of growing old in peace with all my needs met and everything in order, and with my close friends around me to be quite appealing.

Probably Pro/Cre.

Pro- Tend to be calm and perhaps more importantly prioritize keeping what I have already gained over trying to gain more. Not exactly risk averse, but prefer risking the house's money as it were. Oddly in sports, I morph to aggressive though.

Cre- Currently work as a math and science teacher, but am a writer and game designer in my spare time. Really enjoy coming up with unorthodox solutions to problems [once the most efficient has been figured out].

Could be Phi as well. Definitely not Organized or Spiritual [probably more properly phrased as not religious- too many questions], though some may say I am Cha, I do not see myself that way.

Victory Type- Probably time, though I'll also go for Cultural [don't want to be a star, but would like to influence some opinions- which I guess from the descriptions are closer to Space or Diplo].

Guess that makes me Gilgamesh which is kinda cool- especially as in the negotiation screen he seems much more Agg than Pro

There are a couple of the traits where I disagree with your definitions. For industriousness, I'd described it more as being able to make do with what you have, or being unusually efficient at what you do. Focusing on the long term is good if you want to build a long-term business, so I see the relation to industry, but I'd consider that more discipline or farsightedness (in a good way) than Industriousness. I'd actually consider that closer to Organized than Industrious.

I support your idea as well :). Sadly, Fraxis define those traits inversely. Here is the description of organized civ from http://strategywiki.org/wiki/Civilization_IV/Leaders

An organized civilization is an efficient civilization. Organized leaders have "trimmed the fat" so to speak and bear less civic upkeep costs.

In short, they associate organized with efficiency.

Even if it is against my will I define it as is.

For Expansive, I'd consider it more about expanding your abilities than necessarily being aware of the extent of them. More importantly, I disagree with the "improving your weaknesses" focus. I think it's more effective to acknowledge your weaknesses, not focus on them too much as long as they aren't causing excessive problems, and to instead develop new skills that you do have some natural proclivity for. Better to be good at a lot of things with a few weak spots than to be good at a few things and average at a lot of things.

Now this is pretty interesting. You know, I always hear people telling me that it is better to improve your strengths instead of weakness. There are numerous articles to support that. They even write a book about it (I am reading it right now :) ):
http://strengths.gallup.com/110440/About-StrengthsFinder-20.aspx

But are you sure that will always be the case? What if that weakness is critical in your life/career? It is true that you cannot aspire to do things that you are physically incapable of (shouting when you are mute). But that does not mean I cannot pursue a writing career when I cannot organize my ideas well? Or be a excellent marksman when my eyesight is weak?

Just to give you some examples:
  • Demosthenes was an excellent Greek orator despite his weak voice. To compensate that, he practiced with pebbles in his mouth to strengthen his voice. He was praised as "the perfect orator" in his time after years of training.
  • Sitting Bull was called "Slow" for his apparent lack of skills when he was young. But he tirelessly improved until his father gave the title "Sitting Bull" after he has shown to be worthy to lead his people and won several wars after.
  • Elvis Presley was criticized to have no talent when he performed. But hey, he just proved them wrong!!!

I am not saying that your ideas are false but how about we reach on an agreement that expansive trait is like as having a "passion" for self improvement?

There are some trait definitions that are debatable. I see an "Imperialistic" person as someone who can influence other people significantly in one way or another.

From your description above, I think I will rate it as charismatic rather than imperialistic. In my experience, there are some people who can influence other people and gain a lots of friend in the process but there are also some who knows how to get the most out of a relationship yet maintain that relationship going. That's how I draw a fine line between them.

I don't think that imperialistic is always evil but hey it is there out there. They are people smart and knows how to choose this teammates wisely. If you are a part of the team, chances are you are also gaining something if you play your cards right.

----------

Anyone with Charismatic+Imperialistic trait? It's a pretty nice combination IMO.

Exp / Org, just like my dude Mehmed

Mehmed_II.jpg

I'd probably go for a Space victory; I'm fascinated by science, and one of my biggest goals in life is to leave a legacy by making an advance in some field of knowledge.

Exp/Cre - Suryavarman apparently - and space.

Interesting thread, but I can't choose. Someone has to ask me some helping guestions.

Interesting thread, but I can't choose. Someone has to ask me some helping questions.

I don't know about this:

1) In a group discussion, do you generally lead or lead by others?
2) Do make friends easily or have a set of loyal friends?
3) Are you a idealistic or pragmatic person?
4) Are you a dreamer or a doer?
5) Do you make plans in long term?
6) Do you make good decisions from time to time?
7) Which best describes you: a talented person? hardworking person?

(Note: "both" or "neither" are valid answers)

I don't know about this:

1) In a group discussion, do you generally lead or lead by others? I lead if I feel like the others are too quiet (more often).
2) Do make friends easily or have a set of loyal friends? At least I don't have any very loyal friend.
3) Are you a idealistic or pragmatic person? I'm Idealistic.
4) Are you a dreamer or a doer? Dreamer.
5) Do you make plans in long term? I plan my future very much compared to people in my age. Strong yes.
6) Do you make good decisions from time to time? Yup.
7) Which best describes you: a talented person? hardworking person? Some people say I'm talented in many school subjects but I know that it happens because I work hard. So its hardworker.

(Note: "both" or "neither" are valid answers)

Well, what's the result :)?

Civfanatic :)

Well, what's the result :)?

:scan:...Scanning...:scan:

hardworker yet dreamer/idealist looks like an Industrious trait

good at decisions, I'll give you Organized for that.

Aha! Mr. Teddy ;)

Thanks! I can agree with this. Organized fits me good too. I always ORGanize my stuff so I can find 'em, I want that all pieces of chocolade bar are squares (not broken) and so on .. I'm probably going for Time Victory. I just don't the sentence "I just want to..". It's not my only target, secondary target would be Domination victory. By the way, what you mean with Teddy. Doesn't this thread tell me that I'm similar with Franklin D. Roosevelt :)?
