[R&F] What will you be doing to ensure that the next few days pass as quickly as possible?

I just bought a book on Chinggis Khaan that I hadn't read before so I'll get a start on that. :)

Can't wait to play the Mongols again!

Sounds good! I was listening to an audiobook about him a while ago, I can get back into that while waiting. I'm excited for my first Mongolia game, thank you for mentioning their music, I've been listening to it whenever I want to be uplifted/relax :) Will be great to hear it in-game, as I build a ton of Ordu's!

I'm going to watch the Shaka Zulu series (I have it on DVD somewhere). Then I'm gonna kick his butt in R&F.

watching Star Trek Discovery

Good idea, something to put me to sleep would help pass the time. :p :D I kid, I do want to check this series out at some point. But I mus watch Enterprise first. I just finished Voyager recently. Funny thing is that show would sometimes put me to sleep, and I'd sleep about 5 or 10 minutes during the first episode I watched, but I still am glad I watched the series.

Work, Family, shopping, sleep, repeat. Going to bed early on Wednesday, waking up at 4 am to play R&F. Can get 4 hours in before commitments, then another 5 before work.

I am a Mac player so you would think I'd have to wait for another month or two or three, but I have decided to play using Nvidia's GeoForce Go. I am tired of the wait and Aspyr's decisions as of late. So, we'll see how that goes. Hopefully it will be without glitches.

But, having decided that, I started teaching at university today again and my consulting work should keep me busy work wise. I am watching the series McMafia as well and between that and finalizing my choice of first civ to play (split b/w the Cree and Korea at the moment) and my strategy for the civ chosen, I should be busy. So I will be reviewing FL and some streams, but mostly threads here and other wiki type sites discussing what we know about these civs, the new mechanics and the various pointers and strategy plans presented. Plus, I have the Path to Nirvana Scenario to complete. 4 Achievements to go on deity.

Playing civ 6 obviously (2 era’s to go on epic speed). Also watching fear of the walking dead. When i am done playing civ 6 i eather go achievements hunting which i havent really done before. Or binchwatching series.

I am not bothered r&f is still 3 days away. Currently my mod setup is great and on thursday they will probably all be broken. Civ 6 in its current state is very fun to play as it is for me. The AI will not change dramatically at launch r&f

Cool. Yeah, it will be fun to build some Ordus and have horsemen swarm around the plains. The music is just perfect for getting me hyped. I can’t wait! It’s been sooooo long. :)

Nothing over the next few days, but I have booked Friday as working from home so that I can stay up later to play on Thursday and start playing earlier on Friday! Priorities, right? :mischief:

In fairness it's nice to have a day off from the gruelling 90-minute-each-way commute...

90 minutes?! I thought my commute was bad when it was 45 minutes each way. Luckily, I work full time from home now. Trying to clear my Thursday/Friday schedule ahead of time so I can effectively take a four day weekend and have my job be none the wiser.

So to answer the thread's question: I will be working a ton today, tomorrow, and Wednesday to offload Thursday and Friday. Should make the time go by pretty fast.

I teach College English, and am taking in a set of essays tonight. Normally I'd stretch the grading out over a week or so, but I'm strangely tempted to get them all graded by, say, Wednesday midnight (EST) to have the rest of the week and the weekend as free as possible.

I'd pre-feed the cats as well, but they tend to eat it all at once and then claim they need to be fed again. :D

Thinking about starting another game of vanilla Civ6. Must resist the temptation...

SpaceX launch, work meeting, food, other video games.

Falling asleep while trekking through the stars goes against starfleet regulations :nono:

I'm guilty of half-rewatching TNG while playing civ, I'll have to rewatch it again in the future and give it more of the attention it deserves. Voyager or Enterprise are next on my trek rewatch list, right now though I'm trying to avoid rewatching in favor of getting into new shows.

Discovery isn't very trek-like, it's more like a sci-fi action movie, it reminds me more of Battlestar Galactica than trek. It still has a lot of trek moments, although there isn't as much exploration of ideas as there was in the older series. It's still quite good in my opinion! I wonder if you could fall asleep to it ;) Though as a warning, there are some less-pleasant scenes at certain points that I skip over as I'm not really a big fan of that.

My favorites would have to be DS9 and TNG. If you have any shows to recommend I'd be very interested :)

I'm constantly on the lookout for podcasts to listen to while gaming and waiting for rise and fall. Some of other ones I've been listening to are the Dollop and stuff like Reply All and the Pitch. 99 Percent Invisible had an episode recently that talked about air conditioning, and they mentioned stepwells, which was pretty awesome! https://99percentinvisible.org/episode/thermal-delight/
