I would say "Before you lock yourselves into this particular game interface, please try playing 3 or 4 complete games each"
I will withhold my judgement till I get a chance to play the game, but I have grave concerns over what I have seen so far.
It is all very beautiful, but every time I see a zoomed in shot, I have lots of trouble seeing what is going on. All the little details distract me from the overall view of the strategic situation.
It may very well be that once you play the game for a few hours, all these things become clear.
This is why I would request that developers (and their QA/HFE teams) play a couple of games all the way through. Being a developer myself, I know that I tend to concentrate on my task at hand, and my solutions can be great for the individual problem. Once in a while though I have to stand back and look at the whole app to be sure that my ideas really fit in with what the other developers are doing.
