What would you say to the Developers

I would say come and read the Civ 4 threads on this site and see what you can do. Your potential customers are here so listen to them and if it cant be done explain why and what you can do instead.

I know you want to make the next step. I know you want to bring new public. But, can you make a 2D version of the game??? I like the new ideas and the new system, but, most of us can´t buy another computer just to see the graphics. Civ is a STRAGETY game. I´m not plaing for the graphics.

I would say "Before you lock yourselves into this particular game interface, please try playing 3 or 4 complete games each"

I will withhold my judgement till I get a chance to play the game, but I have grave concerns over what I have seen so far.

It is all very beautiful, but every time I see a zoomed in shot, I have lots of trouble seeing what is going on. All the little details distract me from the overall view of the strategic situation.

It may very well be that once you play the game for a few hours, all these things become clear.

This is why I would request that developers (and their QA/HFE teams) play a couple of games all the way through. Being a developer myself, I know that I tend to concentrate on my task at hand, and my solutions can be great for the individual problem. Once in a while though I have to stand back and look at the whole app to be sure that my ideas really fit in with what the other developers are doing.

1. Althought it's too late now, I would ask them to shot for a more serious, less cartoony style. The leaderheads, and overall graphics (The engine they're using just doesn't seem particularly suited for it IMO) are too cartoony for my tastes.

2. Be sure to implement civil wars and revolts. These have had a large effect on the course of the world as a whole, and it should be recognized.

3. Let's see options for fans with lower end systems. I've always liked how the civ games didn't require a powerful computer and I don't want to see that change.
