There is some economic theory that says you must make the game accesibile to the people to get sales but also i think he should have at least made the game scalable and fix the isues which any fan will see.Otherwise he will make himself unbelievable in the eyes of the experienced gamers, journalists.
Therefore before the game will get better,we must wait for the dlcs.
Gigantic issues i consider:
1.Graphical bugs(colosseums in the water, stupid looking roads and river).
2.Idiot war mongering AI that never seems to react in new ways(It has fewer replies than Civ iV AI so diplomacy does not exist).
3.Lack of two or more leaders of the same nation like Civ IV had makes the game rather predictable and lacks variety.
4.No movies, brutal way in witch the space victory ends. You select the last piece and tadam victory. No little ship flying no nothing.
5.Bad gameplay choices that make the gameplay in the end rather boring.(No helpings between civilizations,no intelligent votings and topics at the united nations, nothing!)
