What's the highest difficulty level you can win on at least 90% of the time?

I guess I win almost every game in Chieftain, and although not 90%, I could probablly beat most Warlord games without much effort. I can't beat Noble for the life of me though.

What's your best?:king:

Prince, I usually play monarch but I don't finish most of those games.

I do great at warlord or chieften, but noble is ...maybe 60/40....

:/. The 2nd youtube link in my signature is a BLOWOUT emperor win ;).

Immortal is pretty rough for me though, and deity is for the absolute best only. It's less of a jump from noble to immortal in some ways. You actually need to play carefully and micro .

Monarch for me. Emperor is a good challenge and I have 2 Immortal wins.

Although my high score table is now half full of monarch OCC losses (thanks to the current GMinor) ;)

I lost a gminor attempt today. I was screwing around and went cottages with pacal II . Only freddy beat me to space ----> I was actually teching faster than everyone else with COTTAGES in OCC. Ridiculous.

I had a similar thing happen with my Pacal attempt.

I played Bismarck last game and Wang Kong of all people killed me off after my early CS sling and Pyramids :(

Only the 1 win so far with Peter in 1970. It's a fun gauntlet. I've still got a few attempts in me (going to try Bismarck, Pacal, Wang and maybe Izzy if I get time, although may have a go with Liz too).

Its a very easy to watch, the commentary is great. Its like hearing myself think during a game of civ but...you know..better.

Great stuff for "lesser" players to watch, like myself.

I want to do more of them but my laptop is out and there is NO WAY my desktop can handle it with 512 RAM and an average at best video card :(.

I don't like giving the AI bonuses.

Anyway, I have a 100% win record on Deity, if only because I only ever played one game on a tiny 1-on-1 map where I Praetorian-rushed ASAP with Boudica.

Hope you get it fixed dude, I'd love to see another one.
Especially an immortal attempt. I once , in all my bravery after 3 consecutive emperor wins, started an Immortal game and was taught fairly quikly I have no business starting up Immortal games.

If you follow this advice, you should pretty much be solid on Monarch:
Whip whenever you can, there are only 3 reasons not to whip:
1)You can't (Not enough pop, or it's lategame and you're out of slavery)
2)Your city has grown to a size where whipping isn't practical, ie it doesn't give good returns, usually when a city grows over pop 8
3)You need to spare the whip because happiness is an issue
*4)If you micro well-- You stay the whip for a few turns to maximize overlow

Other then that, whip everything.

As for the OP question, Monarch. Emperor I'm about 50/50. I play a heavily modded game that makes things tuffer though due to Better AI and Revolutions. Last time I tried a default game Emperor seemed a pretty good clip, ie it was a challenge, but I could still pull out a win. Overall I don't micromanage my cities enough, and still haven't really gotten good with the city specialization to move up to Imortal, but to be honest when you have to plan and do math like that, I find the game to be more tedious then fun, so I'll stick with the monarch/Emp level.

I can only think of one game I've lost out of the last dozen or so Monarch games I've played, so I guess it's Monarch for me. I only get in trouble on that difficulty now with a poor start plus a runaway AI.

Cheftain, however, I went back to Settler after not playing for many months.

Unlike most people, I didn't realize it would be smart to start on Noble, so you don't get used to EXTREMELY easy stuff. *facepalm*
