I picked Conquest. If I'm playing with all the victory conditions I simply can't manage to win by conquest;I end up triggering domination.

Culture 20k. The only way I have been able to do it is with a OCC. I have won on Emperor that way though.

Conquest wins are what make me enthusiastic about sitting down for 40+ hours of play per game. Subduing one AI city after another for days on end until MapStat caps me and then I start razing and freeing my slaves...

I have a question, where would you get this Map Stat utility at?

in general, I think Histography is toughest simply because it takes so much patience to actually play all the way to 2050!

I couldn't have said it better myself, that is if you don't include the spelling mistake ;)

EDIT: The first time I saw it, i was sure there were spelling mistakes... :mischief: I'll edit that to mistake now :)

Culture 20k.... Culture 10k is hard enough....

It really really really depends on the map.

Also, what is Culture ___k?

Mapstat can be found here, in the Utility Programs subforum of Creation & Customization. There are lots of nice utilities to be found there. ;)

A 20K Culture win is when you have one city that reaches 20000 culture points. A 100K Culture win is when your Civ attains 100000 total culture points, AND has at least double the culture of its nearest rival.

Depends on map size, settings, number of opponents...
If you play peacefully, 100k or 20k would be very difficult on deity.

Wrong. You don't need to double other cities, it's hard enough as it is. Actually I'm in a SG that tries to have two 20k cities to win. Dunno if we're gonna make it, but we are on our way.

100k Culture. You have to both amass a huge amount of culture, and simultaneously, on the higher levels at least, go to war to bring down cultural rivals to stay clear of the twice as high requirement.

I've never won by either cultural victory, but once I could've netted a 100k one by stopping annexing neighbours before triggering domination.

Ive won on culture 20k like 5 times on monarch and emperor.
Any time I am close to 100k, I am just able to win with domination.

I dont know what maps you guys are playing on but 100k on a standard size map, with average land mass has got to be harder than 20k in one city.

100K is tougher on a tiny map, since you don't have the area, but domination and conquest are easier on those maps. On large maps, it's just the opposite, since you have more ground to cover. Once you have 100-200 cities, a library and temple in every city makes your cultural sky-rocket. Tiny maps only allow for maybe 70 cities max. 20K is easier than you think, just keep building the ancient wonders and heading for those techs. On higher levels, it's harder.

How about the OCC-No-Military-All-Diplomacy-Diety-Challenge!

That scenario is challenging but doesn't belong in the poll, as this seems to be just about the games default victory conditions.
