Guilty pleasure salt/wheat/Polish Immortal. See anything out of the ordinary here?

Pretty weird. Even if all of the civs are natural warmongers, someone should have built it much earlier. I recall games where the Huns and Zulu finished the GL, but the turn times there were pretty ordinary IIRC.

From the same start? This time it will probably will go as quickly as it normally does -- RNG and all.

Of course, you could try DOWing every civ you meet to see if it dissuades them from all wonder building.....

Different game, gone on t35. So just a fluke I guess. In the Polish game, I caught an unescorted Austrian settler and took it early. That's the only thing about it out of the ordinary.

I was setting up a Deity game to test some AI diplo modifiers I was curious about, when I popped Pottery from a turn 2 ruin and thought "well, why not?" Got GL on turn 41 (with no forest chopping). I can't think of the last time I saw it go that late.

Crippled my civ of course, but I was curious.....

Maybe the ai only starts building if you are building it, that could easily explain why we always lose the wonders by 1 turn lol

That's pretty rare, I don't think that's actually happened in single-player for me.

It would be heart-breaking if an AI got it on the last turn you were about to finish it. :p

No I actually finished it next turn. Its no big deal at this point. Maria was also building it too, but she must have been thrown off somehow when she lost her first settler to me.

DOWs will do that to the AI.

Then perhaps she started it, I declared. She then stopped and since the AI wont start a wonder if some one has already made significant progress, then it sat there all that time until I noticed it. I kept the war going a long time too, there was just no fighting.

I occasionally have GL going in late 80's or even later on rare occasions albeit only on Emperor, but then I play with a mod that adds a couple of early game tech including Mysticism before Writing, so I guess that would slow AI down a bit in getting there also, so that may be part of the explanation.

i once got Pyramids on like t170 on Emperor. Others had unlocked Liberty, too. GL on t82 Immo is still way rarer than that i think.
