What's your favorite Age?

Personally, my favorite is the Industrial Age because the music is better, everything.

I like the combat in the modern age; I just love flyin them planes around. But pollution is a bore. And I hate the modern-age music.

I agree with you that musically, the Industrial Age wins hands down. There are plenty of fun tech developments, too. On balance, I'd probably give the nod too the Industrial Age as well.

Industrial age. I used to like the ancient era most, namely when I first got the game, but over time I've come to appreciate the industrial era......I think it's because it's when you discover both oil and coal, to very useful resources.

I have just decided (now that I play the Mediterranian greeks and Romans) that the ancient time is my fav. But Industrial still wins musically. Also I now have Musicmatch, disregard my previous post.

Yes, I'm afraid it is. This be normal for a thread in the Civ3 section, where you have so many coming and going.

Ancient and Middle Ages

So my favorite Age to play is Middle-Age, with all the Wonders Rush, the knights ruling the world and so on.
But musically speaking, industrial age rocks. My favorite one is the one... Well it will be hard to describe, it goes pom pom pom

No, it's the one with strings and drums only, starting with just the strings in pizzicati, more and more coming on, then the drums starts, very hectic rythm, and the thing starts spinning faster and faster, and suddenly -HUUUSH, just the strings back... See which one I mean ?

The second one would be the classical piece. Very neat.

Modern Age sucks, IMHO. Few wonders, the music is really poor (talk about cheap claptonian guitar solos !), I always have the feeling it was not finished...

"city race" , who gets that-good-place for city. Of course in higher difficulties it always seems to be "the neighbour".

I also like Middle Ages, I find the two non-technological ages to more "me" than the others. Especially pollution. That gets very annoying, and the turns get very long.
