When do we get a Demo

Excatly as the title implies, when do we get a demo, 5-4-3-2-1 month away????

I would assume a month or two before the release. I'm hoping that PCGamer will have it on one of their demo cds

Was there a demo for Civ III? I don't remember that. I wouldn't expect a demo at all - there was no Pirates demo either. Maybe just more screenshots and video clips.

one wonders how a demo woudl work. se tnumber sof turns are teh ghey, but somehow I guess thats what it would be. though one woudl hope thier woudl just be a low tech cap, but let you play as long as you wanted, on a tiny map, with like 4civs total, including you (I guess Romans, Chinese, Americans, Mali would be a good selection)

It will probably be only a limited number of technologies/units/civs. Hopefully it isn't too far away. I can't wait to get a first impression of all the new mechanics. You can be sure it will include a healthy amount of the brand new stuff like individual unit promotions and religion at least.

I doubt there will be a demo... Doesn't seem to be the Firaxis style... (unless it was Atari influence)

I'd say the rememdey to that is just not to include most everything that comes in the game; limit to essentially the ancient era, or what techs woudl corrspond to it, and slap in some civs that woudl be fun int he ancient era, and nothing else. perhaps some sort fo coeding trick coudl otherwise be used to help security; not having any idea what can and cant be done with codeing, i obviouslyl cant say.

the only firaxis demo i remember was SMAC back in '99.. i don't reckon they'll do one for CIV4.

yea thers a civ 3 demo. the way it worked is it had all the featurs, but u can only play for 30 min befor something hard coded in it shuts the game down and preventis it from being replayed*i think*

It would depend on how the demo is made. If it is one of those that is complete, but needs you to buy some sort of key from the publisher, then you are right.


But if it is just an incomplete version of the game, then there is no way a simple hack could make it fully functional.

Besides it does not really matter, pirated CD-Images will be available just as soon (if not before) it is released anyway.
