Its actually put out by the Developers themselves. If you watch the videos, Sid Meier's makes an appearance. Good stuff.

That explains it, the guy who pretends to be Tiberius is hilarious.

I'm glad they sold it to 2k games. Atari never did anything like that.

Of course, with Take2's recent Hot Coffee incident costing them ~$50000000...

Actually it'll cost take2 about $40m, although they plan to release the exact same agme but without the impossible-tolegally-get-to code very soon.
Civanon is a damn good site. Why cant more official sites be like that instead of the usual 'Buy our game, its good!" stuff they slap onto the site, with no real content.

The only problem with civanon is that there are no updates to simulate its being "real". Same ol' blog entries ... I want NEW (hilarious or even *gasp* troubling as-in-this-could-be-serious) content!

On the other hand, it's lots of free publicity. The people who are angry about the game aren't people who would buy it anyway, while people who think it's titillating who haven't gotten it already are more likely to do so now. Or they're more likely to get future versions, in hopes of finding something similar.
