When Workers Attack ?

hey guys

can anybody explain to me the reason on why guarding miltary somtimes kill your own workers , it looks they try to attack your own towns ? . i can only think its some type of spy mission that has gone wrong . Dose anybody else have this problem or is it just a glitch in my game .

just a thought, are they captive workers?

I've done this when workers unite to protect the king unit, taking in a hit (and meeting certain doom) for the king. And, when they move into a square with an invisible unit, and they are at war with that civ, they also attack it.

Has the game already been won by some other means and you choose to continue playing it?

Quite interesting. I never faced that, though it's been years i play the game and am currently on C3C...

This was (is?) a bug. Are you running a fully-patched game?

If you search the forums, you will find discussion on it from a year or two ago - units attacking their own towns, etc. If you exit the game, and reload from the latest autosave, it normally works fine again.

You could be right. IIRC, it usually involved using nukes, so it *would* normally be in the later stages of the game.

Oh! That reminds me! I was using the airlift bug in PTW (still not fixed in the 1.22 conquests patch), and I airlifted a guerrilla into an enemy city and sent a cavalry to attack the city (because the previous times the cavalry would ignore the defenders and take the city, regardless) , and my guerrilla attacked back. My guerrilla nearly killed My Cavalry. Odd isn't it?

yes the games scoring has finshed its gone beyond 2050 and its a complete orginall disc i purchased it and i have loaded up a saved game would that have anything to do with it ?

This is one of several odd bugs that only appear when playing past 2050 or some other win condition. Another i have heard of is inability to upgrade certain units. Basically, the game is over and it's time to start a new one.

Now i see why i never faced this... guess i never went over 2050... most of the games are finished long before, and if not, well, i usually stop there...
