When you know for sure this game has it in for you...

Ever notice that when you're playing a civ that can make great use of early faith, your entire continent has no Natural Wonders on it? Or is that just me?

For me it's Victoria. Every time I have tried to play England, I get a starting position in which there is no body of water in sight in any direction. I've given up trying to play that Civ, except as an exercise in frustration. . .

Placement of your first units can be a real lottery. Often a restart is better than trying to slug your way to mediocrity.

The Mayans require 50 restarts for a proper start where you can build ~6 cities.
There should be an achievement for that - something like :

Patience is a Virtue
As the Maya restart the map 50 times before settling your first city.

"I would roll 500 times" - Mayan player's anthem. No. 1 in numerous charts.
"I would walk 500 tiles" - Mayan starting settler's anthem. Still up for grabs for the "But I liked them before they were popular" fans.

Oh Look! He's playing Rome. Let's have him spawn on a tiny frozen island with no neighbors and a single city-state.

Seriously I think every time I pick Rome this game decides to strand me.

If you spawned near iron you've had better luck than I've ever had, lol.
