Where are all the civs in the MA-conquest?

I have seen a lot of positive remarks about the MA scenario so i decided to try it myself. According to the civilpedia this scenario contains a lot of unplayable civs. In my game none of these is appearing. I am playing as France and the only civs present are England, Germany, Russia (Kiev), Byzantium, the Danes, Cordoba and the Abbassids?. Where are all the non-playable civs.

Btw, I know almost the entire map (only some parts in russia are missing),and have contacted all above mentioned civs and they do not have contact with any other civ either.

I don't think so. From the beginning of the game the F8 screen indicated that there were 7 civs remaining (thus total of 8) + from the beginning I did quite some scouting and i did not got any indications for the presence of additional civs.

No, you started the wrong game. You picked the MP version of the Conquest, which is limited to 8 Civs (like all MP versions).

The correct game to start is in "Conquests", not "Civ-Content"

That is the reason.
Now i have to start again to make my obvious victory count
