i cant seem to find it any where 
where can i get the 2.42 patch

i downloaded it, and extracted the files, but wen i try to run it, it says,
"File Error
Cannot find SMEDSNET.DLL"
i have test of time, and wen i try to open any of the games on this site, it says
"obselete file format"
so wat should i do ....

Just make sure you have the latest version of the Multiplayer Gold and you should be fine.scloopy said:

I installed the patch, but it still says, "obselete file format."

its probably a MPG game. so that means that i cant play those games on ToT?

Duke, the 2.42 path is not for multiplayer!
DoubleSidedTape, ToT can indeed only play ToT scenarios/savegames. However, there is a utility called CivConverter that can convert scenarios and savegames to ToT format. It's available among the CFC utility downloads (among many other places):

If you do indeed need a patch, it's the ToT v1.1 patch. No other patches apply.
scloopy, you can check the version by looking at the title of the Game Options dialog (see the Game menu). I'm not entirely sure what the latest version is... But you can get the Multiplayer Gold Edition v1.3 patch here (same link the Duke gave earlier):

With that patch you should be able to load all Civ2 games, except those for Test of Time.
