I'm playing Egypt today. It is now 1700BC. I have 2 cities, popped lots of huts, and have warriors scattered all over everywhere exploring even when there is a dead end. Nothing is happening.

Got a lot of techs in the Ancient Age. But iron is outside my domain.

I need some help with how I play. How do I send my game to you in case some kind soul would look at it and advise me?

read f.a.q. it tell you how to join zip file and other usefull thing.

For your game, you have 2 city so it support 8 units for free, you need more city, everybody will tell you that. You need about 6-10 city around your capital, link luxuries, iron, horse. Then increase city size by building temple and built library for science input. You need a better governement too, republic is best if you have some luxuries and a marketplace in your cities.

You dont say too much about your game, how many a.i., do you have contact, which map size, continent or pangea ? so i cant help you more.

What do you mean "nothing is happening"????

Take the iron, build more cities and a LOT of workers and then if the island is too small (i.e. only suitable for 10 cities get a ship and sail off with 2 settlers and settle the first patch of land you stumble upon...

If there is an other civ on the island, just get the iron and build enough swordsmen to wipe him out.

I'm on small map. Pangea and everything about the climate is average. Culture related civs for enemies is off and enemies are random.

I can't find how to send the game to you. I have looked in FAQ. Can't find it.

Not the thread FAQ but f.a.q in upper right corner on this page, it is a little red square.

Here is my game, Killer and others. It just seems I should be further ahead in 1700 BC than I am. I have traded techs once or twice with 2 of the civs.

Any help on how I can get my early game better would appreciated.

Just looked at your game, and i really don't get what your problem is. You are two to three techs ahead of everyone, can quicklky produce settlers in Thebes, know alot of the map.... looks fine!

Now build as many settlers as you can as fast as you can (but make sure they are niot finished before the city reaches size three. if you are carefull, you can time them to get done the turn the town grows), settle all, research!
:D

btw: go to preferences, choose 'Always wait at end of turn'. That way, before the end, the game will wait ofr you to press enter, so you will not miss anything...

Thanks, Killer, for the encouragement. I seem to get discouraged in the early game and stop.

So then, I will continue to play this game out hopefully to the end.

Thanks again.

just go on :D Try to expand as fast as you can while not totally neglecting military. Usually, 1 unti in core cities and 1 to 2 at the borders + a taskforce for defending against attacks is fine :D
