After enjoying playing Civilization I & II for hundrends of hours, I decided to buy Civilization 2 Multiplayer Gold Edition.
The problem is that the game 'names' itself in many different ways!
The box and the CD say 'Civilization 2 Multiplayer', the readme file 'Civilization 2 Multiplayer Gold Edition' and the
Help->About has two options: 'Civilization 2' and 'Ultimate Civilization 2'. If you choose the second, the screen with the scrolling credits starts 'Civilization 2 Multiplayer Gold Edition...' while at the Options menu it writes 'Ultimate Civilization 2 Multiplayer'. Also, there are no scenarios in the CD, apart from WWII and ROME. The game seems to be the English version.
Does anyone know which version of Civilization do I really own and how can I find the extra scenarios???

In your Civ2 directory should be the WWII.scn amd the Rome.scn but there should also be a directory called "Scenarios" where the rest of the scenarios should be. Also if you chose compact install it will not install the scenarios.

There is no 'scenarios' directory and during the installation, there are only two choices, 'Compact' and 'Typical' (installs about 32 MB).
The readme file says that there are some scenarios included and gives info for how to install more.
Also, as described my someone else too in the forum, the version 1,3 patch cann't be installed!!!

Ahhh I think I've heard of this before (in the forums). Did you're version come in just a jewel case? You may have the "special" multiplayer edition which does not contain the CiC or FW add-ons. Best to start looking for the scenarios on the web.

The game was in a big paper box and sealed!
Do you have to make the Full installation in order to get the extra scenarios? I can choose only Typical or Compact! Full doesn't appear at all.
What name do other Civ 2 Multiplayer Gold Edition CD-ROMs write on them?
Do other Civ2MGE games say "Ultimate Civilization II 5.3 of Multiplayer 1-February-99 Patch 2" at the options menu?
