Question about Civ 7 patches: if we're in the middle of a game, will the changes likely be applied to the existing game? I'm trying to decide if I should start a new game this afternoon/evening, or wait 'til Tuesday. I usually play on marathon, so my games last a long time. I really want to make sure the next time I play Modern, the changes to cultural victory have been applied.
They typically apply.

I think it tends to depend what the changes are. You’ll pick up the balance ones and similar stuff but not anything related to stuff that’s already happened like map generation or age start rules.

Era changes are implemented as essentially starting a new game using your most recent auto save. I presume any era transition would implement all changes in the game's code.

I'd say just start playing. There's two options:

1. The changes are applied mid-game. You just continue playing.
2. The changes aren't applied mid-game. You now start over, starting your new game at the exact same time you otherwise would have, however you've had fun playing for the last few days as well even though you're not finishing that run.

I did wind up starting a new game last night, on a harder level. I might just play through Antiquity a couple of times, depending on how things go -- I'm lagging behind the AI on tech/civics/wonders now.

If I had to guess, I would guess that as long as you haven't started the Modern Age before the update installs, the victory conditions in Modern will reflect the updated code. Though I don't know if relic locations are predetermined when the map is initially created, so if they have been modified as part of the patch, there might be some issues.

Yep, very good work by Firaxis there. Just what the doctor ordered.

Any info at all about the new content?!

Well the game guide is currently down - something going on while adding entries for the new stuff perhaps?
Edit: Nvm back up, with no new stuff yet :P

Well they clearly got the message that the community is very unhappy with the user interface. They’re taking it seriously and hopefully are devoting most of their resources to it. IMO that’s all to the good.
If only they had paid this much attention when we told them the UI was atrocious back in August...
