where is trymedia patch 1.74?

I've searched these forums and found several hits. Clicked on every link I could find to the trymedia 1.74 patch. Each post said something to the effect of "this is the trymedia patch 1.74 that actually works". I've downloaded it and ran the patch five or six times now. Each and every time I find out that Civ 4 just isn't installed on my hard drive.

Yet it is. Downloaded from Trymedia earlier today. No patch page on their site. It's like pulling teeth to get anything on it at all, which led me to this find site. Problem is that everthing I try that I found here ends up at the same place: an unpatched game. 1.61.

Does ANYONE have a link to the correct trymedia 1.74 patch? Or is the problem more sinister than that?

make sure the patch isnt installing in the my games folder

this came up in a recent thread - apparently trymedia changed their patch installer and you now need a new 1.74 patch - I have no link and the last guy only got it by contacting trymedia tech support

THey finally got back to me with an email and a link to the patch. The patch installed perfectly.

Problem is that now my game runs very slowly, especially when loading or saving a game. THe wait is almost interminable. No idea how to fix that.
